Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for the last week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries and vehicle thefts reported between the 8th January 2025 to 15th January 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough.

There were 40 arrests in the period January 8th 2026 to January 15th 2026: Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 8, Rape/Sexual Offence 2, Drugs 2, Drunk/Drug Charge 1, Prescribed Limit 2, Hate/Diversity 1, Violent Crime other 2, Master Occurrence 5, Breach of Bail/Custody related matter 1, Prisoner Recall 1, Criminal Damage 1, None of These 2, Theft 5, Child Protection 2, Child at Risk 1, Absconder/Wanted 1, Immigration 1, Licence Recall Standards 1, Assault on Police 1.
Bicycle Crime Prevention Advice

Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough. Records show that there have been four reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. These include a social media marketplace fraud concerning the purchase of a blacklisted mobile phone.
Burglaries North 08/01/2026 17:32. Sandy Lane, Kingswood. Residential Burglary. Method of Entry – Forced entry has been gained through a first floor window located at the rear of the property. Stolen: Not confirmed at this time but including watches. (PR 45260002622) Between 17/12/2025 00:00 to 09/01/2026 00:00. Long Walk, Epsom. Attempted Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Attempted forced entry through the garage door. Stolen: Nothing Taken. (PR 45260003310) 11/01/2026 01:45. Harbourfield Road, Banstead. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Entry through the garage door. An occupant of the property disturbed the suspects(s). Stolen: Electric Bicycle. (PR 45260003469) 12/01/2026 14:30. Woodmansterne Lane, Banstead. Distraction Burglary. Method of Entry – A cold caller claiming to be a decorator has entered the property to provide an estimate. Whilst in the property the suspect has stolen items. Stolen: Purse.
